AMHA Public Housing Program
The Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority (AMHA) Public Housing portfolio consists of over 4000 rental units at 26 properties in the greater Summit County area. These properties consist of multifamily apartments, townhomes, high-rises, and scattered site single family homes. AMHA is dedicated to maintaining their properties to the highest standard and in compliance with HUD requirements.
Public Housing provides eligible low-income families, seniors, and disabled persons the access to safe, decent, and affordable rental housing. There are income requirements for Public Housing and priority is given to those with the greatest need. Residents of AMHA Public Housing pay a portion of their income toward rent and/or utilities and comply with income examination and the terms of their AMHA Public Housing Lease.
